Industrial Sales Customer Liaison Officer (Elandsfontein)

Elandsfontein, Gauteng

Minimum requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12

  • 2 to 3 years Call centre and customer service experience

  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office), Excel and SAP essential

  • Good telephonic skills

  • Effective Communication Skills

 

Duties

  • Assists Sales Engineer and Industrial Sales Rep with estimates, tender and quotations

  • Provides and manage product information, data sheets, catalogues and brochures, to external and internal customers

  • Contacts customers daily as per calling schedule

  • Receives general query calls and orders from customers

  • Receives and action works instructions from Sales Engineer and Sales Rep

  • Check account status, credit viability and limits

  • Check stock availability and advise customer

  • Keep up to date on stock availability and advise Sales Engineer or Industrial Manager of stock status

  • Record orders on order sheets

  • Generate orders on SAP as per generating orders procedure

  • Release order (Invoice generation) for shipment and FLO

  • Advise Warehouse & Distribution Manager, supervisor and Value Logistics supervisor on orders not released

  • Control special, late and same day deliveries by recording these deliveries in the special, late delivery book

  • Advise customer of planned delivery time

  • Provide Service Support to customers and forward support requests to relevant Sales Engineer or Rep

  • Manage, register and process all claims

  • Liaises with customer with regard to collection time

  • Ensures funds paid in timeously

  • Ensures pricing correct quote vs SAP

  • Liaises with warehouse staff on picking and ensure correctly packed

  • Interface with customer on arrival at warehouse and handle the process

  • Ensure customer vehicle DG compliant, if required

  • Post Matric qualification - Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Marketing

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience Sales / Marketing, servicing customers in the retail industry

  • Own transport and a drivers licence

 

Duties

 

  • Creating purchase requisitions / service accepting and pulling reports

  • Pulling sales reports / monthly reports

  • Tracking sales data

  • Presenting sales figures and targets at monthly reviews

Minimum requirements:

 

  • ·         Matric / Grade 12

  • ·         N3 or above Technical Qualification

  • ·         Sales / Marketing Qualification, advantageous

  • ·         Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience within a solution-selling environment

  • ·         Valid driver’s licence - essential

 

 

 

Duties

Sales – Achieving Targets, Enabling Growth

 

  • ·         Visit customers and potential new customers according to a set of daily calling cycle and, if applicable, a new business development schedule

  • ·         Analyse and provide feedback on buying patterns of customers in geographical area in order to meet target objectives

  • ·         Provide ideas to increase sales within the area of responsibility

  • ·         Implementation of new marketing and promotion ideas and assist customers in aligning their strategy with that of the Company marketing strategy

  • ·         Monitor monthly sales per customer, understanding reasons for volume gains/ declines

  • ·         Make recommendations on product enhancements for improved sales potential

  • ·         New business opportunities by identifying potential dealers and distributors and cross selling opportunities

  • ·         Canvasing and opening of new customer accounts based on their viability as future customers (includes assistance with the credit application process)

  • ·         Update customer database by providing new information regarding new customers and/or updating existing information. Ensure 100% accuracy of all master data per geographical area (also critical for CRM purposes)

  • ·         Monthly reporting and meetings with the Industrial Business Development Manager to feedback status for existing and new business

Profitability

 

  • ·         Ensure profitability targets are achieved at quote, tender and final invoice level.

  • ·         Adhere to Limits of Authority with regards to discounts and tender prices

 

 

 Customer Engagement, Retention and Satisfaction

 

  • ·         Assess and manage all warranty claims, according to set policies & procedures,

  • ·         Build and sustain great customer service levels and business relationships in support of business objectives

  • ·         Resolve or escalate all customer queries/complaints according to relevant policies and procedures

  • ·         Investigate and resolve customer complaints and clarification of enquiries

  •  

  • Activities - Calls, Demo’s, Training, Competitor Intelligence, Market Feedback

  • ·         Visit customers and potential new customers according to a set of daily calling cycle and, if applicable, a new business development schedule

  • ·         Training of customers to ensure customers are kept up to date with technical product changes

  • ·         Make recommendations on product enhancements for improved sales potential

  • ·         Ensure that technical developments in the market are reported to the Industrial Business Development Manager for escalation to the Technical/Marketing team on an ongoing basis

  • ·         Ongoing tracking and reporting on competitor activity in the region

  • ·         Be an active Professional Social Media contributor (LinkedIn, etc) to be top of mind amongst other professional users.

  • ·         Set up monthly meetings and discuss action plans relating overall debtors as per standard trading terms and conditions in line with targets

  • ·         Ensure that operational costs are curbed by reducing unnecessary expenses and adhering to expense policy

  • ·         Conduct regular pricing surveys in the region and report findings to the Industrial Business Development Manager so as to maintain & grow market share

  • ·         Ensuring that discounts are managed in accordance with set parameters

  • ·         To ensure that the relevant sales target is achieved in accordance with budget

 

 

 

Internal Processes

 

  • ·         To ensure compliance to all relevant sales and operations policies and procedures

  • ·         Build and sustain good internal service levels and business relationships with the central functions in support of business objectives (Finance, HR, Marketing, Operations etc.)

 

 

Human Capital

 

  • ·         Report any incidences of alleged misconduct/non-performance to Senior Management to ensure action is taken as required

  • ·         Ensure that all HR administrative issues are processed accordingly
